SATURDAY MUSIC SCHOOL

Music school has been an important part of our children’s musical journey. The teachers are inspirational and the children have great fun while experiencing many different musical genres.

TRACKS CHOIR

Our choir is at the heart of Saturday mornings. Led by Yunn Chen, our choir sings popular hits, fun rounds and original songs created especially for TRACKS. We have free spaces available from 9:30- 10:30 for our older students and 10:30-11:30 with optional lunch and playtime until 12:15.

Keyboards and Ukulele

We have small ensembles learning the keyboard and ukulele. These classes are designed to be a fun introduction to music where the young people can play as a group, make friends and learn a new skill. Contact us to join the waiting list.

Ensemble Class

Join us for an exciting opportunity to play in a band! We connect beginner and more advanced musicians and singers, helping them write and create music together. From cover songs to original compositions, our bands have evolved from Saturday sessions to performing on the main stage at Tramlines.

Performance Opportunities

At our gigs, festival slots and outreach events, students are given the invaluable opportunity to showcase their performance skills. We also collaborate with our older students to identify exciting venues across the city for them to perform, including renowned spots like The Leadmill and Yellow Arch. Our students have taken part in vibrant events such as the Tramlines Festival, Sharrow Festival, Mobo Fringe and community gatherings like the Youth Awards, Tramlines at Sheffield Children's Hospital and Sheffield Food Festival, making their mark in the local arts scene. Keep up to date and join us in celebrating their talent and dedication!

Lunches and breaks

At Sheffield Music School, we’re proud to have a dedicated youth worker from the Community Youth Service available to support our young people. This resource ensures that they can openly discuss any concerns and discover the various support options available throughout the city. Additionally, we provide free lunches and snacks for all children, made possible through our year-round fundraising efforts. Your support helps us continue to support our community!
